The actress, who was today honoured with the 'Smita Patil Memorial award' for her outstanding contribution to Hindi cinema, promised to keep her sincerity towards her work intact.
"I believe the most important thing in art is truth. And I can promise that my attempt is sincere and truthful to the craft, which has largely given me my purpose in life over the last few years," Katrina told reporters here.
The Bollywood star said it was "overwhelming" for her to be given the recognition.

Katrina, who was presented the award by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, said she accepts the honour on "behalf of every women who seeks to excel in her field of work."
The honour was part of 'Priyadarshani Academy Global Awards'.
