After its successful Cannes debut in May, "1962: My Country Land", an English feature film based on the Sino-Indian war, will be screened at Brahmaputra Valley Film Festival tomorrow, which will mark its India premiere.
"We are happy to receive some good response on the film at Cannes. Now, screening the film at the Brahmaputra Valley Film Festival would bring us closer to our regional audience," said Chow Partha Borgohain, who has directed the film.
The film, shot mostly in Arunachal Pradesh, showcases the struggle and life of the main characters during the approaching war and how they were able to trust, and not to trust, each other.
Starring Aham Sharma, Lhakpa Lepcha, Daniel Shin Han and Ketholeno Kense in lead roles, this film is the first home production of Living Dreams Productions, headed by Marbom Mai.
"One of the goals of the company is to promote North East India for film tourism locations and introduce filmmakers to great avenues and serenity of the region," said Mai.
On the release of the movie, Mai said, "At present we are not contemplating on the release dates. As of now our primary focus is to explore more film festival circuits in India and abroad. We are planning to screen the film in various festivals before we move for a commercial release.
"After this first feature, Living Dreams is expanding their horizon into partnering with international labels as co-producer in productions in their upcoming projects", Mai said.
