On Monday last, the 74-year-old filmmaker-turned- politician was admitted to the Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hospitals where he was operated for kidney failure, sepsis (blood poisoning) and respiratory problems.
"His condition is stable. Kidney functioning is also improving. Lungs' functioning is also stable. He is in recovery phase. He will be supported though ventilators for next two or three days. There are indications that infection is coming down. He is still in ICU," doctors at KIMS told reporters.
