First Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru is likely to be given a miss by the NDA government as it compiles the list of personalities to be highlighted during the week-long film festival in Siri Fort auditorium.
A movie each starring Shah Rukh Khan ("Chak De India") and Aamir Khan ("Lagaan"), both of whom have faced criticism from BJP in the past over their views on the 'intolerance' issue, will also be shown.
The festival will be inaugurated by Naidu and the first movie will be the award-winning "Gandhi".
"The purpose behind organising such festival is to rekindle the spirit of patriotism and educate our youngsters about the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters," Naidu said.
He also said that a special song has been composed to mark 70 years of independence.
He added that there will be a special flight in which crew members will wear khadi clothes.
