"The Union government is likely to publish the final award of the Cauvery River Water Dispute Tribunal in the Gazette by the second week of February," he told reporters late last night after attending a function here.
Criticising the Tamil Nadu government for the 10-hour power shedding in the state, Vasan said the power cut was also hitting people hard besides, affecting industry and production and agricultural activities.
The state government alone was responsible for the power crisis and could not shift the blame to the Central government, he said.
Vasan expressed confidence that the Congress would emerge victorious in the 2014 Parliamentary election.
