Fine of Rs 14 lakh slapped against food adulterators in MP

Two persons were slapped with a fine of Rs 14 lakh for allegedly selling adulterated milk products during Diwali festival in Madhya Pradesh's Morena district.
Taking stern action, district administration fined Manoj Singh Jadoun and Santram Rawat with Rs 7 lakh each and also booked Jadoun under the National Security Act (NSA).
The action was taken after a raid was conducted at the shops of Rawat and Jadoun at Chacheha village under Joura tehsil in the district.
Morena collector, Shilpa Gupta said that Jadoun has been booked under the NSA for adulterating milk products on a regular basis but he is currently at large.
Jadoun has been caught for adulteration in the past and was issued warnings as well.
After the raid was conducted, the matter was posted in Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) court for trial. The court after holding the two guilty, imposed fine of Rs 7 lakh each against the duo.
