An offence has been registered against a head clerk in the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) here for allegedly outraging the modesty of a woman clerk working in his office, police said today.
The complaint has been registered against Mahendra Dagadusheth Pawar on Sunday, who used to pass vulgar comments and use double meaning words in the presence of the victim, who works as a senior clerk in his office, police said.
According to police, the victim had earlier brought the incident to the notice of the Superintendent of Police (ACB), following which a departmental inquiry had been ordered. However, Pawar continued to use obscene words in her presence.
The victim then sent an email to the Director General of Police (DGP) of ACB. Taking serious cognisance of the complaint, the DGP called both the accused as well as complainant to Mumbai in May this year and recorded their statements, police said adding that the DGP then issued transfer orders of the complainant in Nashik's IG Office.
However, Pawar did not hand over her transfer orders, following which she lodged a complaint against Pawar at Sarkarwada police station on Sunday. He has been booked under section 354 (A) of the IPC, police said.
Police are yet to arrest him in this case.
