The guards and crew members have been booked under Arms Act-1959 Section 25 i (b)(a, and f), for illegally possessing arms and ammunitions on board the ship, a senior Marine Police official said.
The official said the crew and guards were still on board the vessel. "They will continue to be interrogated," he said.
The ship was detained by the Coast Guard authorities on October 12 about 15 nautical miles east off Tuticorin after they received information that the vessel carried arms.
