Criminal intimidation, insult to the modesty of a woman, intentional insult to provoke breach of peace were the charges mentioned in the FIR registered against Chief Commercial Manager, Southern Railway, Ajit Saxena.
Provisions of the Arms Act (for alleged display and threat by a pistol) and Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, have been invoked against him.
A senior police official said that the FIR has been registered by Flower Bazaar Police.
A heated argument had occurred between the women TTEs and Saxena following which the latter lodged a police complaint against the former on the basis of which an FIR was registered subsequently.
Also, nine TTEs were suspended by railway authorities for alleged misdemeanour and a counter complaint was also lodged by them with police.
Meanwhile, railway trade unions have held protests seeking action against the official.
