"On the basis of a letter received from the state government in this regard, we have issued necessary directives to the Udhamsingh Nagar SSP to lodge an unnamed FIR in the case," Bansal told PTI.
The Bhati panel's report tabled in the state Assembly recently has raised questions on the legality of Hemant Dwivedi's appointment as the Chairman of the Corporation by the then BJP government besides citing irregularities in purchase of jute bags for packaging of seeds, the DGP said quoting the official communication received in this regard.
The report alleged that the then Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank nominated his close associate (non-official person) Shri Hemant Dwivedi as the Chairman of Uttarakhand Seeds & Tarai Development Corporation Ltd, contrary to the articles of Association of the Corporation which prohibits appointment of a non-official person as its Chairman.
Ever since the probe commission's report was tabled in the state Assembly on March 19, BJP and the state government have been trading charges with the opposition members questioning the legality of the panel and the ruling Congress demanding an FIR against those indicted in the report.
