Fire at Odisha Home Department

Fire broke out at the Home Department in the ground floor of the state secretariat building here today, the police said.
The fire was first spoted at the store room of the Home Department by an air-conditoner mechanic. There was no casulty or any major damage to the government properties, said fire officer T K Babu.
"There was a fire incident at the stationary store room of the department. The fire service has been asked to assertain the cause of the incident," said home secretary Asit Kumar Tripathy.
The fire was brought under control within half an hour, Babu said.

Sources said some old files and documents inside the store section had been destroyed while the firemen managed to save other documents and files.
