A 45-year-old fire brigade jawan allegedly committed suicide today by jumping off the terrace of Vidhan Bhavan (legislature complex) in south Mumbai.
Arjun Kachre, employed with the fire brigade, jumped to his death at around 8.15 am, police said.
Kachre was receiving treatment for schizophrenia for the past one year, said Assistant Police Commissioner Rajendra Chavan.
He was rushed to the nearby GT hospital but was declared dead on arrival, Chavan said. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
No suicide note was found and police are conducting further probe.
