However, no casualty has been reported.
"A fire was reported at 12.30 pm in Velachery. It seems to have broken out from a generator that was in use. Five fire tenders have been pressed into service," a fire official said.
A man was injured in the accident, and fire fighters are still trying to put out the fire, officials said.
