None was, however, injured.
Official sources said trouble broke out when civil and police officials sent by the district administration had asked the inmates of the relief camp set up at Bilasipara Government High School to vacate the premises as the situation had eased.
This angered the inmates who attacked the officials seriously injuring a police officer, the sources said.
The police first resorted to lathi charge and when the situation could not be controlled, they resorted to blank firing, the sources said adding none was injured.
The relief camp was set up by the district administration for victims of the July clashes in lower Assam, the sources added.
