The incident was reported last night, they said.
Khan claimed that he was inside his house at 11.15 PM when he heard gunshots, the police said.
A case has been registered and the police have seized the empty cartridges. There were no eyewitnesses and no one was injured, according to police officials.
This is the second time in two months that Khan has allegedly been attacked.
In June, a few men had allegedly fired at him.
The earlier incident is learnt to have occurred when Khan had gone to help a woman who was allegedly being forced to vacate her house.
