The wholesale grains market depicted a firm trend today as prices of rice basmati and a few other bold grain firmed up by up to Rs 200 per quintal following emergence of buying by stockists against restricted supplies from producing regions.
Traders said stockists buying in the face of restricted supplies from producing regions mainly pushed up rice basmati prices.
They said increased offtake by consuming industries helped a few other bold grain prices to trade higher.
In the national capital, rice basmati common and Pusa-1121 variety went up by Rs 200 each to Rs 5,200-5,300 and Rs 4,050-5,050 per quintal respectively.
Other bold grains like, maize and bajra rose by Rs 15 to Rs 10 to Rs 1,700-1,705 and Rs 1,545-1,550 per quintal respectively.

Basmati rice (Lal Quila) Rs 10,700, Shri Lal Mahal Rs 11,300, Super Basmati Rice Rs 9,700, Basmati common new Rs 5,200-5,300, Rice Pusa (1121) Rs 4,050-5,050, Permal raw Rs 1,850-1,900, Permal wand Rs 2,050-2,100, Sela Rs 2,200-2,300 and Rice IR-8 Rs 1,600-1,620, Bajra Rs 1,545-1,550, Jowar yellow Rs 1,750-1,850, white Rs 3,300-3,400, Maize Rs 1,700-1,705, Barley Rs 1360-1370.
