"This is the largest conference cum exhibition in the agriculture and horticulture sector in the North East. It will showcase the strength of Assam in cultivation of different varieties of crops," state Agriculture Minister Nilamani Sen Deka told reporters here.
The global fair will have a total of 426 stalls, of which 25 will be from 14 foreign nations, he added.
"This fair will also give us an opportunity to discuss investment avenues in the agriculture space of the state by foreign investors. We will explore possibilities with some overseas entities," Deka said.
Deka said over 500 delegates will join the four-day agriculture extravaganza, where around 50 farmers from Myanmar will also take part.
"We will bring more than 5,000 farmers from different districts of the state to make them aware of the new farming trends available in the world," he added.
