First chartered flight of tourist season arrives in Goa

The first chartered flight, with more than 500 tourists, arrived in Goa heralding the start of tourism season in the coastal state known for its beaches.
The state tourism department, which welcomed the tourists, also warned them against venturing dangerously in the sea.
The coastal belt of North Goa is already flooded with the domestic visitors due to the long weekend culminating on October 2.
The first chartered flight from Moscow was given warm welcome in the morning at the state's Dabolim airport.
Russia has been one of the biggest market for Goa's tourism industry which is also expecting good arrivals from the UK and other countries.

The tourist season in Goa continues till May, while November and December are the peak time of tourist arrival.

The tourism department officials were personally present at the airport to welcome the guests who landed from the chartered flight.
Goa Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar in his message to welcome the guests has asked people to exercise restrain while venturing into the sea.
Ajgaonkar's statement issued to the media appeals to the tourists visiting Goa for thefestive and longweekend to enjoy their stay in Goa and to beresponsible andrefrain from endangering their lives.
He said, "As Goa is decked up for thefestiveseason andis an attractiveholiday spot for tourists to enjoy the festivefervour,Iwish everyonevisiting the state a pleasantand enjoyable stay.

"I also take thisopportunity to appeal toeveryone to enjoythe season'ssplendorandwhile doing so tobe cautious and responsible citizens," he said.
"Do abide by instructionsof the locals andpolice as they are your guides in helping you from risking or endangering your lives.
"We want you toreturnhomewith good memories of Goa andwant you to revisitthe statein future," the minister added.
