First Diplomats' Golf meet to start on Feb 20

The first Assam International Diplomats Invitation Golf Meet will be held at Kaziranga Golf Resort in Jorhat from Thursday.
The event, to be attended by many Ambassadors and High Commissioners of different countries, will take place from February 20 to 23 and is being organised by Assam Tourism Development Corporation in association with The Sunday Guardian and Assam Golf Association among others.
According to an official release, the participating diplomats include Sri Lankan High Commissioner Prasad Kariyawasam, Indonesia Ambassador Rizali W Indrakesuma, Philippines Ambassador Benito B Valeriano and Cambodian envoy Yous Makan.
Besides Kazakhstan Ambassador Doulat Kuanshev, Zimbabwean Ambassador Jonathan Wutawunashe and Brunei High Commissioner Paduka Sidek Ali will join the event.

Venezuelan and Finish Ambassadors are also expected to attend the first of its kind golf event in North East.
Besides the diplomats, golfers from Assam and the North East will also take part in the event.
The Kaziranga Golf Resort has a 18-hole course to hold the sporting event.
The meet will be inaugurated by Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on February 22.
