First generic medical outlet inaugurated in Indore

The first of its kind generic medical outlet that would sell drugs and surgical appliances at lower than the market price was today inaugurated in the city.
The generic drugs and surgical appliances outlet christened 'Aarogya Medical Store' of the Red Cross Society at Dhakkan Wala Kua here was formally inaugurated by Mayor Malini Gaud.
Collector Akash Tripathi, who was also present on the occasion, said the Red Cross Society plans to open 25 more such stores in next two months and of these, 20 stores would be opened in urban areas and remaining in rural areas.
The store would sell generic drugs and surgical appliances at 75 per cent and 60 per cent cheaper than their market price respectively as well as give 20 per cent discount on purchase of drugs.
A mobile application is also being developed to disburse information about drugs and surgical appliances available with it for home delivery as well, officials said.
