"I have plans to produce a 20-episode tele-serial in Santhali language. I want to start shooting for the first tele-serial in tribal language sometime in May-June," Hansdah, an award winning producer-director, said.
The script of the show is ready, he said adding that the theme will revolve round the problems faced by the community in their daily life.
The focus of the serial will also be to educate rural masses about superstition and promoting tribal custom, culture and language, he said.
"Bardu" had bagged seven awards in the last edition of All India Santhali Film Association (AISFA).
The state government had been spending huge amount of money on advertisement to make tribal masses aware about their various welfare schemes but never made any effort to reserve a slot in Doordarshan to promote their cultural heritage or language, he regretted.
