West Bengal Governor M K Narayanan flagged off the campaign here comprising a 32-member coast guard, marine police and fishing community team from the Raj Bhavan precincts.
During their four-day tour, the team would cover a distance of approximately 600 km on motorcycles and conduct the campaign in various fishing hamlets along the coastal regions of West Bengal, officials said.
The teams will visit fishing hamlets enroute and undertake community interaction programme and medical check-up camps with the assistance of medical teams from Coast Guard and Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI).
The teams will traverse through two different routes including the Diamond Harbour and Contai fishing zones.

One of the routes will touch Petuaghat, Contai, Junput, Digha, Jaleswa before returning to Kolkata, while the second route will include Diamond Harbour, Kakdwip, Namkhana and Bakkhali.
The campaign will terminate at the Coast Guard enclave in Maniktala on Saturday.
This also commemorate 37 glorious years of the Indian Coast Guard that celebrates its raising day on February 1.
