Fishermen rescued by Indian Coast Guard off the Okha coast

Seven crew members of a sinking fishing boat were rescued by the Indian Coast Guard off the sea, near the coastal town of Okha near Jamnagar today morning using two hovercraft, officials said.
According to a press release issued by the Indian Coast Guard today, the Okha-based Coast Guard Station received a message from local fisheries department about a sinking fishing boat about 2 kilometres off Okha.
After learning about the sinking boat, the Coast Guard swung into action and diverted two of its hovercraft to the scene of incident, along with a team of seven divers.
The Coast Guard managed to rescue all seven crew members of fishing boat 'Suvarn Raj', who hailed from Banda and Gajipur districts of Uttar Pradesh.
After providing first aid, all of them were handed over to the fisheries department in Okha, the Coast Guard statement said.
