Fishermen's remand extended till June 19

A Sri Lankan court today extended till June 19 the remand of 14 Tamil Nadu fishermen who were arrested by the Lankan Navy on June 1.
According to information received by the local fishermen association secretary, P.Sesuraja the fishermen were produced before the Mannar Judicial Magistrate Aseervatham Alexarasian Zakiresian who remanded them to judicial custody.
They were then taken to the Vavuniya prison.
When they were produced on June 1,they were remanded to custody till today.
Three boats that were seized were already anchored at Talaimannar port, he said.
