Five activists of a city-based organisation Darsgah Jihad-O-Shahadat (DJS) were on Tuesday detained here before they were to address the media in connection with the Supreme Courts verdict in the Ayodhya land dispute issue, police said.
The DJS office-bearers, including its president Abdul Majid, were detained as a preventive step following information that they may deliver provocative speeches, a senior police official told PTI.
Police were in the process of registering an FIR, he added.
