Five arrested for violence in Mann village

Five persons were arrested in connection with the violence in village Maan on May 19.
They were produced in the court of Sub divisional Judicial Magistrate Malout Kapil Aggarwal who sent them to judicial custody for ten days.
Five arrested were Sukha Singh, Pritpal Singh, Surjit Singh, Ranjit Singh and a woman Manjit Kaur, police said here today.
In all ten persons have been arrested so far in connection with the violence on May 19 when the polling for Panchayat and Zila Parishad was held, SSP Surjit Singh said.
The Lambi Police have registered a case against twenty five Congress supporters by name and about 100 unidentified persons on the alleged charge of setting eight vehicles afire.
The clash between Congress and SAD workers took place after the ruling outfit supporters allegedly tried to capture a booth in Maan village which falls under the Lambi Assembly constituency, represented by the Chief Minister.
Punjab Congress had alleged that SAD workers tried to capture booth which was opposed by Congress workers.
