Five booked in gangster Asif murder case in Uttar Pradesh

Meanwhile, search operation has begun to nab the accused, however, no arrest has been made so far

Five people have been booked in connection with the murder of an alleged gangster, who was shot dead here, while being escorted by the police after a court hearing, police said.

Gangster Asif, accused in several cases of murder, loot, kidnapping, was being taken by the police to Allahabad Naini Central Jail, where he had been lodged, after the hearing here yesterday, when he was shot dead by four men at the Muzaffarnagar railway station.

Government Railway Police (GRP) has registered a case against five people in this connection.

Constable Chander Sain of the police escorting team has lodged FIR against -- Sharikh, Fasal, Shobi, Rihan and Israr -- of Muzaffarnagar, under various section of the IPC, according to SHO, Government Railway Police Deepak Chaturvedi.

Meanwhile, search operation has begun to nab the accused, however, no arrest has been made so far, police said.
