In separate incidents, five persons, including a couple, were booked for allegedly duping a youth and woman to the tune of Rs 8.50 lakh on the pretext of sending them abroad, police said.
Sukhwinder Singh, a resident of Cheema village, complained to police that Rajinder Kumar, his son Ajay Kumar and his aide Makhan Singh have taken Rs 5.35 lakh from him on the promise of settling him in Australia, SSP Mandeep Singh Sidhu said.
