The concept of this expo is healthy living, focusing on nutrition, food contamination and hygiene, habits such as smoking, alcohol and physical fitness, Dr C Palanivelu, Chairman of the Foundation, told reporters here today.
Claimed to be a first of a kind educational expo, exclusively for gastrointestinal diseases and stomach cancer which was on the rise of late, particularly in South India, this would help to know the gastrointestinal problems, investigations facility and modern treatment, he said.
As part of the celebrations, competition on debate, drawing, quiz for school and college students, pubic and expert doctors' face to face interaction on different topics such as cancer life style problems, hernia and women health would be held, he said.
To create awareness on healthy living, a massive cycle rally, led by C Sylendra Babu, ADGP, Coastal Security Group, Tamil Nadu, with participation of 1,000 cyclists, is being organised from Mettupalayam to the Hospital, covering neaerly 40 KMs, Palanivelu said.
