A child, identified as Vikki Kumar (10) died after being fatally struck by lightning in Madaspur Basa village, while 12 year-old Rajan Kumar died due to similar reasons in Budhma village, Udakishunganj's Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Dipak Kumar Sahu said.
Lightning claimed the life of a 34 year-old man, identified as Manoj alias Ganga Ram Yadav, in Phulauth (East) village, while Shankar Rai (35) died due to similar reasons in Phulauth (West) village, he said.
A woman, identified as Sugiya Devi (65) suffered a fatal cardiac arrest in Ramganj village under Gwalpada police station area during lightning, Sahu said.
