There has been nearly a five-fold increase in the number of public grievances received online during 2014 to 2017, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said today.
A total of 2,70,413 grievances were received on the Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) in 2014 as against 14,17,891 last year, he said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.
There were 8,79,230 and 11,94,931 such complaints in 2015 and 2016 respectively, Singh said, adding that as many as 6,27,088 grievances have been received till July 19 this year.
"There has been about a five-fold increase in the number of grievances in CPGRAMS from 2014 to 2017. The rate of disposal has also kept pace with the number of grievances received during the period. High rate of disposal has been achieved as the government has taken all possible steps to put in place a strong redressal mechanism," Singh said.
