Five govt officials held in graft cases

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today nabbed five government officials including three police officers in Andhra Pradesh for allegedly taking bribe.
Police Sub-Inspector P Suresh Kumar attached to Peddamandyam Police Station in Chittoor district was caught red-handed by ACB officials while accepting bribe of Rs 15,000 for doing an official favour, an ACB release said.
The bribe amount of Rs 15,000 was recovered from Police Constable G Sriramulu and Head Constable T Srinivas Rao after which the trio was arrested.
In an another case, ACB Officials caught red-handed R Subbaiah, Assistant Registrar/Recovery Officer of AP Co-operative Housing Societies Federation at Anantapur, when he accepted bribe of Rs 10,000 for doing an official favour.
In yet another case, K Venkataramana, Deputy Executive Engineer at Irrigation Branch (Command Area Development) Kollapur Sub-Division, Mahabubnagar District, was caught red-handed by the ACB officials at his office when he took Rs 11,000 as bribe from the complainant for doing an official favour, the release said adding all the three cases are under investigation.
