In view of the rising incidents of early morning burglaries in Jhilmil industrial area and the coming MCD elections (April 23), the Shahdara district police has intensified the checking.
On March 30, a trap was laid for Azim alias Ajay, Asif alias Sattar Ahmad, Salim alias Salik S Akram and Sajid alias Firoz, who used to steal vehicles for committing residential burglaries and later abandon them, police said.
They were nabbed from the GTB Enclave area in a stolen Honda City car and three countrymade pistols and five cartridges were recovered from them, said DCP (Shahdara) Nupur Prasad.
In a separate case, Imran was nabbed from Seemapuri area with two pistols and a countrymade weapon.
It was found that Imran along with his elder brother Firoz, used to purchase pistols and country made weapons from UP and later sell them to criminals in Delhi, Prasad added.
