Five killed, 7 injured in separate road mishaps in Gujarat

In the first accident, three persons were killed and four others were seriously injured last night when their jeep rammed into a state transport bus on national highway number 8 near Berna village, they said.

Out of the four injured, three had to be rushed to Ahmedabad for treatment, police said.

The jeep was on its way to Botad in Bhavnagar district from Haridwar (Uttrakhand) when the mishap occurred.

The victims were identified as Bhavana Joshi (45), Babu Khachar (58) and the jeep driver Bhikhu Darbar (50)-- all natives of Botad.

In the second incident, two persons were killed when two speeding motorcycles collided head-on near a petrol pump on Bechraji- Kalri Road in Mehsana district, police said.

The deceased have been identified as Karsan Thakore from Chansma in Patan District and Jentiji Thakore from Bechraji.

Two others who were injured in the mishap were rushed to Mehsana for treatment.
