Five-month-old foetus found from street drain

A estimated five-month old foetus was found from the street drain in Bijliwal village under Qila Lal Singh police station this morning, police said.
After noticing the foetus, suspected to be that of a female child, a social worker Kanwaljit Singh informed the village sarpanch who then brought it to the notice of the police.
A police team, led by ASI Daljit Singh arrived and sent it to civil hospital here from where it would be sent to the forensic laboratory Amritsar.
Police said investigations were on.
