Five members of a family were today killed after the vehicle they were travelling in was rammed by a truck coming from the opposite direction on the wrong side of the Mundra-Gandhidham highway, police said.
Police said that the incident happened near Vidi village in Kutch district when the family was returning in their Mahindra Bolero vehicle to their home in Khedai village after buying medicines from Gandhidham.
"The dead includes a three-year-old boy. A two-year-old girl is seriously injured and is currently undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Gandhidham," an official from Anjar police station said.
He identified the deceased as Kanti Bhojani, Jashoda Bhojani, Meenaben Bhojani, Shanti Bhagat and Nilesh Bhagat.
