Five parties stage dharna in front of Raj Bhavan
Press Trust of India Bhubaneswar Coinciding with the TMC and SP protest in Parliament complex over black money and re- conversion, five different political parties today staged a dharna in front of Raj Bhavan here over the same issue.
The parties comprising SP, RJD, JDS, JDU and SJP unitedly protested against the Centre's policy on black money, communalism, farmer suicide, unemployment and price rise. They also submitted a memorandum to the Odisha Governor in the matter.
Drawing attention of the Governor, the five parties pointed out in the memorandum "that communal forces are taking aggressive steps to create disturbance and harm communal peace and tranquility in the coming x-mass and new years days."
"They are trying to spread venom against religious minorities. Hence Governor must direct the government to maintain law and order to protect communal harmony and social tolerance," the memorandum said demanding minimum support price (MSP) to the paddy farmers and end distress sale of paddy as the farmers are facing a lot of difficulties in mandies due to unholy nexus between millers, supply department officials and district authorities.
As the promises of Prime Minister Narendra Modi "failed" to retrieve black money stashed in foreign banks within 100 days, they alleged that a huge amount of black money was taken from mining and real estate.
