Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Alok Kumar said he along with other senior district police officers, on reaching town police station for inspection, found the five policemen neglecting their duty.
The policemen Naresh Kumar Singh (Inspector), Rajnikant, Siraz Ahmed, Navendera Mahato and Rajiv Ranjan (all ASIs) were charged with deliberately delaying disposal of pending cases and filing chargesheet in old cases in the court.
The DIG said these policemen were warned on numerous occasions in the past to improve their functioning but did not pay any heed to it which resulted in their suspension.
