Five-yr-old girl, brother sexually assaulted by relative

A five-year-old girl and her brother, suffering from Cancer, were allegedly sexually assaulted by a close relative at nearby Malayankeezhu over a period of three months, police said today.
The accused, a 26-year-old man, was arrested today and charged under section 377 of the Indian Penal Code (unnatural offences) and relevant sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, they said.
The incident came to light after the 9-year-old boy narrated the ordeal to his mother and she informed their teacher. The Childline officials were also informed about the incident.
Police said the boy is undergoing treatment for cancer.

This is the latest in a series of alleged sexual abuse of children in Kerala in the recent days.
