State Congress chief Sachin Pilot said "political accountability" should be fixed for corruption in government departments.
"Corruption is rampant in the departments of Mines, Urban Development, Public Works and others. The role of the chief minister and other ministers remains till the projects are completed. Therefore, sparing them from the course of the investigation is like hiding corruption," he said.
Pilot claimed that ruling party MLA Ghanshyam Tiwari too had accused Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje of corruption and "questioned" the role of the ministers.
"Cases of corruption are being unearthed regularly in the department. The Anti-Corruption Bureau has detected a scam in the purchase of submersible pumps. The minister, Kiran Maheshwari, should resign," he said.
"Such scams are not possible without patronage from the higher level. The minister should resign so that the ACB can conduct an independent and fair probe," Dudi added.
The ACB had recently conducted an inspection of the PWD offices and seized documents pertaining to alleged financial irregularities in the purchase of submersible pumps.
