DMK chief M Karunanidhi today urged the Tamil Nadu Government to resolve the wage settlement issue with State-run transport corporation employees in talks slated for tomorrow.

The 12th wage settlement pact between the State and employees should have been put in place on September 1, 2013 itself, he said.

"Considering the protracted delay, a constructive decision should be announced at talks to be held tomorrow," the former chief minister said in a statement here.

Employees of the State-run transport corporations resorted to strike last December pressing a charter of demands including wage revision.

Eleven trade unions, including CITU, INTUC and DMK's Labour Progressive Front, participated in the strike.

However, the strike was later called off and the state government set up a eleven-member committee in January last to hold talks with employees.

The panel has so far concluded five rounds of talks with employees and the next talks are slated to be held tomorrow.
