Scores of buyers who have invested in flats being built by a private company here today protested in front of the city police commissioner's office demanding action against the builder, who they alleged have stopped part of the construction of the project.
They alleged the company officials neither pick their phone calls nor reply to emails or letters enquiring into the halting of the construction.
"Each of the buyers has invested Rs 40 to 50 lakh for different segments of flats and we are literally helpless", claimed Aparna Bhardwaj, a buyer.
She also claimed the buyers had earlier met with ACP Crime Hawa Singh and demanded for immediate action against the company top management.
The ACP said, "On individual basis, we have received a total of 70 complaints in this connection and a special investigation team (SIT) has been constituted to probe this issue in time-bound manner. FIRs against the developer company would be registered on the basis of investigation report."
The company had started the construction of its project spread over 11 acres in November 20, 2012 with a completion time of 36 months, a protester claimed.
