Flight diverted to Kochi due to poor visibility

A private airlines, scheduled to land here at around 7.20 AM, was today diverted to Kochi due to heavy fog in the airport area.
The Indigo plane, carrying 180 passengers from Chennai, could not land because of poor visibility due to fog and the pilot was directed to divert it to Kochi, airport authorities said.
The flight returned to the city at around 10 AM from Kochi after the fog cleared and there was conducive climate for landing, they added.
