North Eastern Space Application Centre (NESAC) has sounded flood alerts in low lying areas of Meghalaya's West Garo Hills district after incessant rain in the region for the past two days.
"If there is an embankment breach and water level crosses the danger mark, then nearly 10,000 people will be affected in the district," he said.
