DMK treasurer M K Stalin today demanded a white paper on the money spent for flood relief operations so far by the Tamil Nadu government.
In a Facebook post, he demanded a white paper from the Tamil Nadu government "for the money spent so far in Cuddalore and Chennai for flood relief operations."
He also sought details related to a fund of Rs five crore earmarked for removal of plastic refuse here.
"I urge the government to set up a panel of all party members for disbursal of relief assistance as demanded by our party chief Kalaignar (Karunanidhi) so as to ensure that the relief fund allotted by the Centre reaches the affected people fully," he said.
Recently, the DMK chief had sought an all-party panel to monitor disbursal of relief assistance.
Earlier today, Stalin presented a cheque of Rs one crore towards flood relief operations to Finance Secretary K Shanmugam at the Secretariat, a day after DMK chief accused the State officials for "dodging" accepting the cheque.
Alleging that the State government had "delayed" accepting the cheque, Stalin told reporters the "situation changed" after the statement of Karunanidhi and his conversation with the Chief Secretary over phone yesterday.
"Later we were asked to give the cheque to the Finance Secretary," he added.
