Several trucks loaded with relief material sent by the Goa Forward Party for Kerala's flood-affected people reached Kasargod in the southern state today morning, a party functionary said.
GFP president and Goa Agriculture minister Vijai Sardesai had flagged off the trucks from here yesterday.
The party's vice-president Durgadas Kamat said that the convoy, led by GFP's youth wing chief Raj Malik, was received at Kasargod this morning by local MLA N A Nellikunnu of the Indian Union Muslim League.
Speaking to PTI over phone, Nellikunnu said that people were coming from across the world to help Kerala rebuild after floods destoyed thousands of houses and forced several lakh people to stay in relief camps.
The Kerala MLA thanked the GFP and Sardesai for the truckloads of relief material.
Speaking to reporters yesterday, Sardesai said, "We believe this is the exemplification of Goemkarponn (Goanness). It is better to be a small party with a big heart than a big party with a small heart."
