The water level of Noa Dihing and its tributaries has risen causing a flood-like situation in the low lying areas of Namsai district particularly at New Silatoo, Dharampur, Lekang Gohain Gaon, Dirak Miri, Ranjalibeel, Rajabeel and Philobari under Lekang circle, an official report said today.
Bank erosion was continuing at Upper and Lower Deobeel as well as one spur constructed at Upper Silatoo was washed away and another constructed under SPA partially damaged, the report said.
The river course of Nao-dehing has diverted towards Deobeel (right bank) which caused excessive land erosion.
The RCC spur construction at lower Deobeel has been damaged and needs immediate repair and one RCC spur is required at down-stream of existing spur as well.

All rivers including Lohit, Kamlang, Berreng, Tengapani and Jengthu are flowing above the danger level and communication between Alubari and Tezu has been disrupted.
A report from Lohit stated that Changliang, Dhivajinagar, Khoraliang, Denning nallah, 32 mile, Duraliang, Danglat, Loiliang, Sunpura and Yealiang villages were badly affected due to flood water.
Flood water is just 5 m away from the main road and the protection work at minor irrigation project (MIP) Tachere Denning has been damaged threatening the headwork while, Balijan area was submerged by flood water.
The MIP at Balijan was also damaged affecting the neighboring area as the aprons of the wing wall of MIP at Hucheliang and Pomliang have been washed out while, villages like Danglat, 32 Mile and Mepo were affected due to soil erosion, the report added.
