Fmr GOC-in-C of Western Command sworn in as PPSC Chairman

Punjab Governor V P Singh Badnore on Tuesday administered the oath of office to the newly appointed Chairman and members of the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) in the presence of Chief Minister Amarinder Singh here.

Lieutenant General (Retd.) Surinder Singh was sworn in as PPSC Chairman, while Additional District and Sessions Judge Mohali Shivinder Singh Mann was administered the oath of office as the official member, and eminent author and columnist Harmohan Kaur Sandhu (Bubbu Tir) as non-official member, as per the official release.

Chief Secretary Karan Avtar Singh conducted the proceedings of the swearing-in-ceremony here.

Surinder Singh had retired as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Western Command of the Indian Army.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Shivinder Singh had also served a special judge in the CBI court of Punjab and Presiding Officer, Industrial Tribunal-cum-Labour Court, Chandigarh.
