In its bid to woo the masses, the UPA government is highlighting proposed legislations like food and land bills in the latest phase of its high-profile 'Bharat Nirman' campaign.
With general elections scheduled next year, the Information & Broadcasting Ministry is planning to run the latest 'Bharat Nirman' audio-visuals clips created across TV channels and social media networks across the country.
Apart from the bills and legislations, schemes like Direct Benefits Transfer and Aadhar card also feature prominently in the campaign.
Speaking at an event held to release the clips, I&B Minister Manish Tewari said that a "silent revolution" had taken place in the country in the past decade and a rights based infrastructure had been created which had empowered people, whose story had to be told.
"Often the voice of the silent majority is lost in the discourse that happens around the two and a half miles of Raisina hill. So there is an effort to highlight the narrative of development of the country," Tewari said.
He was questioned as to why in the latest phase of the campaign, the ministry had included a number of audio-visual clips which showed legislations not yet passed by Parliament.

"We have clearly put forth the intentions and policy before the people. And whichever matter is before the parliament, clearly we have declared and presented the actual facts and situation before the people."
He said that in the previous phase of the campaign - the glimpses of India story part I - they had focused on 13 initiatives while in the latest campaign new initiatives have been included.
Among the new audio visuals is a series of clips featuring a young woman Priya, who after benefiting from a scholarship scheme helps fellow villagers get Aadhar cards and compensation of four times the market rate as envisaged in the proposed Land Acquisition Bill for rural areas.
