"The food law does not ensure any security to farmers. There is no provision in the law which can guarantee that foodgrain will be purchased from farmers at profitable price," BKS General Secretary Prabhakar Kelkar told reporters here.
The BKS also opposed the land acquisition law, saying it does not guarantee the ownership rights to farmers.
"The land acquisition law does not provide the ownership right to farmers over their land, and at the same time there is no provision in law to give royalty to farmers if the minerals are explored from their land," Kelkar added.
